The Roka is usually the first formal ceremony of a North Indian wedding, and it is smaller and more familial than anything that follows. It is typically held at home or a modest venue, in daylight, with both families meeting properly for the first time. That setting calls for restraint rather than spectacle, which is exactly the register most grooms overshoot. At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we dress the Roka as the intimate occasion it is.
A well-cut kurta set with a structured Nehru jacket is the standard Roka answer, and it works precisely because it reads considered without competing with the wedding-day wardrobe still to come. Soft, warm tones, ivory, sage, dusty pink, powder blue, photograph well in daytime home lighting where saturated jewel tones can look heavy. Keep embroidery to the collar and placket. A lightweight bandhgala is the alternative for grooms who want more structure, particularly where the Roka is held at a hotel rather than at home.

Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
