The Atelier
A Sufi night is an acoustic, seated, atmospheric evening, and it is the one wedding function where dressing down is the more sophisticated choice. At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we design Sufi night outfits around drape and fabric quality rather than embellishment, because heavy embroidery reads as out of step with the mood of the evening.
A pared-back silk kurta with minimal embroidery is the right register, letting the fabric’s fall do the work. Ivory, dusty rose, sage, muted gold, and other soft tones suit the low, warm lighting of a qawwali setting better than saturated jewel tones. Because guests are largely seated on low seating or floor cushions, comfort through the seat and a kurta length that sits well when seated matter more than they would at a standing event.
The Process
A direct consultation with founder Chirag Parmar on occasion, silhouette and fabric, with no sales floor handoff.
Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
