The Atelier
The Haldi is a long, lively, high-movement ceremony held in daytime heat, so comfort matters as much as color. At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we design Haldi kurtas that hold up through hours of rituals without wilting or overheating the wearer.
A breathable cotton or linen kurta in a bright shade like mustard, teal, or peach, paired with a lightly embroidered Nehru jacket, is our standard Haldi recommendation. Comfort comes first: loose enough to sit and move freely, light enough for a warm morning, and colorful enough to photograph well against turmeric-yellow decor.
The Process
A direct consultation with founder Chirag Parmar on occasion, silhouette and fabric, with no sales floor handoff.
Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
