What Happens at a Nischayathartham?
The Tamil betrothal is a daytime, family-centred ceremony, usually at the bride's home or a hall. The wedding invitation is formally read out, thamboolam is exchanged between the families, and elders are central to the proceedings. It is considerably more traditional in register than a North Indian ring ceremony, and dressing it like one is the most common mistake we correct.

Silk Kurta or Veshti?
Both are correct; the family decides. A cream or off-white silk kurta with a gold zari border is the more common contemporary choice and is easier to wear if you are not used to a draped garment. The veshti with an angavastram is the more traditional answer and the one most often expected where elders set the tone. If you have never worn a veshti for a full day, practise the drape beforehand and have someone who knows how to secure it on hand.
Can You Wear a Suit?
At a traditional Nischayathartham, generally no. This is one of the few functions where regional convention genuinely outranks personal preference, and a Western suit tends to read as out of place among elders. If the family is relaxed about it, a suit is more defensible at an evening reception later in the sequence than at the betrothal itself.

Every garment is drafted from roughly 20 to 25 of your own measurements and cut from our own fabric library. One fitting is standard before the garment is finished, and alterations are covered for one month after delivery or until the garment has been worn, whichever comes first.
