At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we treat it as an opportunity for texture: the cocktail evening is where a fabric with visible depth outperforms a plain suit, without the strict rules a black-tie reception imposes.
A structured jacket in velvet, brocade, or jacquard over a plain shirt is the most reliable cocktail look, richer than a business suit but without the formality of satin lapels. A three-piece suit with a statement waistcoat is the alternative, and it holds up better if the evening runs late and the jacket comes off. Keep the shirt simple, a plain white or deep tonal shade, so the jacket carries the visual weight rather than competing with a patterned shirt underneath.
The Process
A direct consultation with founder Chirag Parmar on occasion, silhouette and fabric, with no sales floor handoff.
Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
