At Chirag Parmar Signatures every pattern is drafted individually, embroidery is worked in-house rather than outsourced, and Chirag personally oversees fittings. Mumbai has excellent tailoring, but much of the premium market runs on standard blocks and outsourced embroidery, which is what most clients are trying to move away from when they come to us.

How does Mumbai humidity affect fabric choice?

Considerably. We specify lighter, more breathable cloth for Mumbai than for an inland winter wedding: open-weave wools around 220gsm rather than 280gsm suiting, half-lined or unlined jacket construction, and breathable pure silks over heavy brocade for ceremonial wear. Velvet works only for air-conditioned evening venues.
