The Atelier
A pre-wedding shoot is the only wedding-adjacent event designed entirely around the camera, which changes what a good outfit does. It has to hold its shape through hours of movement, work against a specific location’s colour, and photograph well from angles you never see in a mirror. At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we design shoot outfits around the location and the light rather than around a trend.
Location dictates palette. Against Bengaluru’s green outdoor locations and Nandi Hills, earthy tones, rust, olive, cream, separate the subject from the background, while a beach shoot in Goa or Gokarna calls for light linen and soft neutrals that do not fight the horizon. Heritage and palace locations in Mysuru support deeper, richer fabrics. Avoid tight small-scale patterns entirely: fine checks and narrow stripes create moiré on camera. Movement matters too, since most shoot direction involves walking, turning, and lifting, so armhole and trouser cut should allow it without pulling.
The Process
A direct consultation with founder Chirag Parmar on occasion, silhouette and fabric, with no sales floor handoff.
Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
