The Atelier
Beegara Oota is a Karnataka wedding tradition with no real equivalent elsewhere: a formal lunch hosted between the two families, warm and social rather than ceremonial. It asks for a specific register that most groom wear guides skip entirely, dressed up enough to honour the hosts, light enough to sit through a long meal in daytime heat. At Chirag Parmar Signatures in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, we dress it as its own event.
A layered jacket over a kurta is the natural answer: formal enough for a function where you will be introduced to extended family, without the weight of full ceremonial wear. Breathable silk-cotton, fine linen, or a light raw silk works better than heavy brocade for a daytime meal. Keep embroidery restrained; this is a function where the families are looking at you closely and across a table, so fabric quality and fit register far more than embellishment.
The Process
A direct consultation with founder Chirag Parmar on occasion, silhouette and fabric, with no sales floor handoff.
Choose from pure silk brocade, Super 120s to 150s wool, raw silk, velvet or linen, matched to your occasion.
A pattern drafted from roughly 20 to 25 measurements, including posture points a size chart never captures.
Fittings refine the fit, and embroidery is worked in-house. Most garments are ready in two to eight weeks.
