What Does the Mehendi Actually Demand?
Long periods seated while everyone around you is dressed for photographs. The groom is frequently stationary for an hour or more, which changes the brief: the garment has to look composed while seated, not just while standing, and it has to stay comfortable in daytime heat without creasing into a mess.

Which Colours Work Best?
Greens are the natural register for a Mehendi, from pistachio through to deep emerald, and they sit well against henna and foliage decor. Mustard, teal and coral are the other reliable choices. The one thing to avoid is anything so pale it disappears against a light mandap, since most Mehendi decor is already soft and floral. How Much Embroidery Is Right?
Thread work along the placket and cuffs, and little else. Because the photographs are taken close and from the front while you are seated, that is exactly where detail registers. Dense all-over embroidery adds weight and heat for no visual gain at a daytime function, and it makes the garment far less wearable afterwards.
Can You Wear a Jacket?
A light bundi or Nehru jacket works well and raises the formality without much heat, particularly if the Mehendi runs into the evening. Keep it unlined or lightly lined. If the function is outdoors at midday, skip it and let the kurta carry the look. See Nehru jackets.

Unstitched silks such as a veshti, panche or mundu are not included.

Every garment is drafted from roughly 20 to 25 of your own measurements and cut from our own fabric library. One fitting is standard before the garment is finished, and alterations are covered for one month after delivery or until the garment has been worn, whichever comes first.
