What Register Does an Engagement Actually Call For?
The engagement sits in an awkward middle. It is more formal than the pre-wedding functions and less ceremonial than the wedding day, and most grooms resolve that by overdressing. The better instinct is to treat it as the sharpest tailoring of the wedding rather than the heaviest: a garment that fits precisely will always outperform one that is simply more embellished.

Why Do the Hands Matter So Much Here?
The ring exchange is the photograph everyone keeps. Your hands are at the centre of the frame, which makes sleeve length the single most consequential measurement of the outfit. The cuff should end at the wrist bone with a clean half-inch of shirt showing. Keep the watch slim enough to sit under the cuff, and if you wear rings already, decide at the fitting which hand carries what so nothing competes with the ring itself.
How Early Should You Order?
One to six weeks for a suit or Indo-Western with a fitting, longer if you want handwork. The engagement usually falls when the rest of the wedding wardrobe is still being decided, which is an advantage: commission it alongside the other functions so the palette is planned as a whole rather than assembled one event at a time. Our published starting prices and typical ranges, plus the usual atelier lead time before the fitting. Every commission is quoted individually at the consultation, because cloth, construction and the hours of hand embroidery move the figure more than anything else. Unstitched silks such as a veshti, panche or mundu are not included.

Every garment is drafted from roughly 20 to 25 of your own measurements and cut from our own fabric library. One fitting is standard before the garment is finished, and alterations are covered for one month after delivery or until the garment has been worn, whichever comes first.
