The Upanayana (Janeu or Munji) is a sacred Vedic transition ceremony. In traditional cultural hubs like Basavanagudi, Malleshwaram, and Shankarpuram, families gather to initiate young boys into learning. Both the young initiate (Vatu) and his father require authentic, unblended natural silk garments that adhere to Vedic sanctity while providing all-day comfort.

For the morning Gayathri initiation and Brahmopadesha, we tailor unstitched pure mulberry silk dhotis (panche) with hand-woven gold zari borders and matching angavastrams. For the afternoon celebration and feast, we draft tailored silk kurtas and bundi jackets that keep young initiates looking regal and feeling comfortable.
