Sherwani Case Study
The Royal Ceremony: Cream & Gold Sherwani
The Brief
The groom wanted a traditional silhouette that carried the grandeur of a South Indian Muhurtham without feeling heavy or restrictive during the long rituals. We worked closely with him to balance the deep cultural significance with a modern, breathable fit.
Designer Notes
Pattern drafting for this piece focused on the shoulder slope and the drape of the front panels. Since a sherwani telegraphs any fit errors all the way down, we ensured the armhole was cut high enough for mobility during the ceremony rituals.
Fabric & Construction
Constructed from premium ivory raw silk, featuring intricate hand-embroidered Zardozi and Aari work in pale gold. The fabric was chosen specifically because silk holds the metallic thread embroidery perfectly without buckling.
